The 5 Best Small Kitchen Appliances
When I am thinking about things I use the most in the kitchen and the things I don’t, there is a definite group of the best small appliances that come to mind. Some I could leave behind, and some I can’t live without. Among these, are the Instant Pot, Magic Bullet, Soda Stream, Cuisinart Bread Maker, and my beloved Kitchen Aid Mixer. Each of these small kitchen appliances gets me through the week of making recipes for Amy Cakes and also for my demanding (read: demanding) family.
The Instant Pot
Sometimes, I just throw random frozen things in my Instant Pot out of desperation. At least one day a week, I am completely overwhelmed by life and kids and work; 7:00 rolls around and I have no plans for dinner. In that moment, I usually feel like a total failure; but then I remember my Instant Pot and how I can dump all the things in there and it makes a meal. That’s what happened with this amazing Instant Pot Chicken And Rice Casserole With Spinach. Now it’s everyone’s favorite dinner.
Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer
I do so many things with this Kitchen Aid Mixer; kneading dough, making cookies, whipping cream. It gives me a second to breathe during really involved recipes. My husband bought me this mixer about 12 years ago for Christmas; I was so excited and it has been fixture in my kitchen ever since. I also have many of the attachments that enable me to make so many homemade foods (Ice Cream Maker, Pasta Maker, Grain Mill).
The Magic Bullet: My favorite of the best small kitchen appliances!
My love. I’m not sure what I would do without my Magic Bullet. I mostly make ever single sauce with it, and you know what? It takes all of the hard work out of sauce. Also, it is WAY easier clean up than a big food processor. I can just grab this Magic Bullet out of the cabinet and make a sauce in 2 minutes, wash it and I’m done. Other than making life easier, it really emulsifies dressings better than any other method.
The Soda Stream
Anyone: what is the one thing you would take to a deserted island?
Me: Diet Coke.
It’s an unhealthy relationship between me and my Diet Coke. In the last year or so I have really cut back and Soda Stream has really helped. My favorite drink to make with the Soda Stream, is blackberry lemonade using Crystal Light Liquid Blackberry Lemonade flavor (no sugar). You just need a couple of squirts of the liquid, and you are drinking the best Italian Soda you have ever had. You should know too: it doesn’t have the awful metallic/sharp taste of soda water out of the can. I was worried about that before I bought it but it’s just a nice clean carbonation.
The Best Bread Machine By Cuisinart
I have had many bread machines over the years. The Cuisinart Bread Maker is by far my favorite. It has so many different functions. It makes whole wheat bread like a champ, and even has a setting for low carb bread, gluten-free bread, artisan dough, and so many more! This is why it has to be on my list of best small kitchen appliances.
