This is the best gourmet whole wheat banana bread you can make at home. No sugar, no nuts, and minimal whole wheat flour!
Preheat oven to 350°
FOR THE BANANA BREAD:
Using a mixer* beat bananas, brown sugar, vanilla, and walnut oil until combined
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and cinnamon
Slowly beat in flour mixture until combined
FOR THE TOPPING:
In a greased** loaf dish, pour batter and top with oatmeal topping
Bake uncovered 45 minutes or until done in the center
* If you don't have a mixer, make sure that you mash the bananas well. Whisk the other wet ingredients and then add the mashed bananas, stirring completely.
