A ribeye with a big glass (big) of Cooper and Thief (red wine blend) is my favorite Friday night dinner. Even more favorit-est would be if someone made me a romantic heart shaped ribeye. I would feel pretty special and since Cooper and Thief has 16% alcohol by volume, probably pretty tipsy too. Men, I’m talking to you right now. Valentines Day is tonight…there is still time for you figure this out. Go grab a ribeye from the grocery store on your way home from work, I’m about to show you how to make a heart shaped ribeye steak and it’s going to look like you had this whole night planned out.

How To Make A Heart Shaped Ribeye Steak
It start with a really good cut of meat. This ribeye is 1.75″ thick. You need a thick-ish ribeye to make this happen. Think back to your elementary school days when you would cut hearts out of paper. You would fold the paper in half, and then cut half of the heart out, open it up and it would be a full heart.
Same thing here. Sort of.

The ribeye is basically the half heart shape, you just need to slice it down the middle and open it up.

On the round side, you are going to carefully slice it through the middle from the side. Do not cut all the way through. Stop about 1/2 inch from the flat side. Open it up, and you have a heart shaped steak for two! I’m just saying guys, you both get a ribeye and you get man of the year award. Win. Win.
