It's not a secret that I love red wine, especially in the dead of winter. There is nothing better than a cozy winter dinner with glass (or 3...whatever) of red wine by the fire. I am definitely not a sommelier, or a wine expert, but I am girl who loves the red and I want to share with you my favorite red wines this winter. All four of these wines are under $25.00 and definitely worth trying.
Cooper and Thief Red Wine Blend
Cooper and Thief Red Wine Blend is my all time favorite wine. It's aged in Whiskey Barrels for 3 months, and the result is a spectacular flavor that is darkly rich and jammy. For me, it goes well with anything, but it is especially great on a steak night. The vanilla and bourbon notes are strong and make for a really rich flavor. It is rated a 90 on the 100 point scale, and I'm not sure why. I am pretty much ready to challenge them to a duel, because it's a 100 for me.
SERVE THESE RED WINES IN STYLE
A soft and easy wine, Alamos Malbec is one that we have enjoyed for years. It is one of the best selling Argentinian Malbecs in the United States. Wine Advocated rates it a 91, yet the price point is really affordable, it's only $8.99 on Wine.com. This is one you can buy by the case and be sure that everyone will love it.
The Prettiest Cheese Board Supplies
19 Crimes The Punishment Pinot Noir
You can always trust that everyone will love 19 Crimes. This, coupled with it's budget friendly price is what makes it the perfect wine to buy by the case. It's a bonus that they have talking labels (Living Wine Labels), allowing you to hear the crimes straight from the prisoners mouth. This is a great party trick/conversation starter. If you have guests that love to drink up, this is the perfect price point and flavor combination to make it a fun night. It's only $13.99 on Wine.com!
Take Your Red Wines On A Picnic
Armilar Ruby Port
Let me tell you something. This wine is $7.99 at Lidl grocery stores (I know, right?!). It is rated a 95 and won gold at both the Los Angeles and Indianapolis International Wine Competitions. It is SO GOOD. I don't have a picture of my own because we drank it all.
My friends always love, love, love it. Port is traditionally served at the end a meal and goes great with a cheese board. I have only ever found Armilar Ruby Port at Lidl grocery stores. I currently have another Ruby Port in my cart at Wine.com (Get 20% off for new customers), and I will be reporting on that one soon!
Give these a try, I know you will love them as much as I do! I have to go now so I can order that Ruby Port on Wine.com. I can't wait and we have a game night coming up soon!
