Pork sausage, onions, and beans are slow-cooked on the stove with hard cider, a special seasoning packet, and tomatoes. This is the best chili I have ever made with a deep, rich, flavor that comes from the hard cider. Cold weathers’ BEST chili!

2 medium onions, diced

1 Tbsp oil (olive oil, grapeseed, or avocado)

1 lb. pork sausage (or Beyond Meat Orginal Brats *Vegetarian option*

1 bottle Angry Orchard Hard Cider (or your favorite)

1 packet McCormick Grill Mates Smoky Applewood Marinade Mix

1 can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 28oz can petite diced tomatoes

1 can tomato paste

  1. Saute: Heat oil on medium-medium high heat and add onions, cooking until translucent, about 10 minutes.
  2. Cook: Add pork sausage (or vegetarian option), cook until browned, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add: Pour in hard cider, marinade mix, beans, tomatoes, and tomato paste.
  4. Simmer: Bring to a low boil and then reduce heat to low medium-low. Simmer for 3 hours covered. Stir occasionally.
