In our house, we treat Valentines Day as a family holiday. Also, every day is a family holiday. When you have been together for 20 years, and you have two kids (one is a baby), that whole romantic dinner out just doesn’t happen. Do you feel me? Family dinner at home wins the day, and that’s fine. We love our kids and they love special days, so we really choose to be with them and make it a family-centered evening. With that in mind, here are three Valentines family dinner ideas.
Valentines Meatloaf Dinner
This Valentines Meatloaf Dinner is a classic family favorite. This meal is easy to whip up in about an hour or less. Pop the meatloaf in the oven first, steam the cauliflower, and then cook the green beans last, they’re really quick.
Valentines Greek Moussaka and Couscous Dinner
This is a winter comfort dinner for the whole family this Valentines Day. Like the meatloaf dinner above, this one comes together in about an hour too. Sautéed spinach topped with pine nuts would be a great addition, if you can get the kids to agree. Get the Moussaka in the oven and then start the couscous, it takes about 45 minutes.
Valentines Creamy Chicken Florentine with Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans Dinner
This creamy Chicken Florentine is one of my go-to winter dinners. When you add Old Fashioned Southern Green Beans and Smoked Gouda and Thyme Sweet Potatoes, it’s becomes a special family Valentines dinner. Make the Chicken Florentine and the Sweet Potatoes ahead, and then just pop them in the oven when you’re ready.
If you are making dinner for lots of little Valentines this year, I hope these three Valentines family dinner ideas make your night more yummy. Let me know if you make any of these dishes in the comments below!
